Grace - Peaky Blinders style restaurant in Barcelona

I have a soft spot for Peaky Blinders, so why not spend Valentine’s evening at the new spot - Grace restaurant? This place immerses you in the elegant world of gangsters - secret London bars of the 1920s. Dimly lit chandeliers, flawless marble tables, polished silverware reflecting your face, crystal-cut glasses for Negronis and single malt whisky, and walnut wood furniture (don’t ask how I know that). The whole vibe effortlessly sets the mood for intimate gatherings - whether with friends, family, or your special someone.

Now, let’s talk about the menu, we started our dinner with appetizers: Delta de l’Ebre oysters – these Catalan oysters have a unique sweet and nutty flavor due to their special growing conditions. I really loved their firm texture. Next, we tried shrimp and monkfish croquettes - not bad, but nothing mind-blowing. However, the meat croquettes stole my heart: insanely tender, flavorful, and they just melted in my mouth. The last appetizer was a brioche with beef tartare and sturgeon caviar - a soft, slightly grilled bun topped with cold, spicy tartare that paired perfectly with the black caviar.

For the mains, we went with: Beef tartare, prepared tableside on ice. You can adjust the level of spice, seasoning, and additional ingredients to your taste. And for an extra charge, they'll shave a fragrant black truffle blanket over your tartare - totally worth it. Slow-cooked duck breast with caramelized pear - finding duck this tender and juicy in Barcelona is rare, so I’d say it’s a must-try at this restaurant.

For dessert, we had pistachio tiramisu – according to reviews, it’s their best dessert, but it didn’t really hit me. I’m a classic tiramisu girl deep inside. Apple tarte Tatin with vanilla ice cream – now this was my kind of dessert. A delicate, buttery crust, green apples bathed in golden caramel sauce, hints of vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, and even a touch of thyme I think. And when you add a spoonful of cold ice cream and sip on a fruity Sauvignon Blanc… Well, why am I even telling you this? Just go try it yourself.
